Doha: A section of Al Wukair Road will be closed on November 28 for 7 months. Traffic will be diverted onto 1-km two-lane parallel road.
The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announced that it will improve and move a small section of an existing diversion on Al Wukair Road as shown on the attached map.
During this seven-month period, road users travelling westbound on Al Wukair Road towards Al Wukair will be diverted on to a one-kilometer two-lane parallel road to continue their journey.
This diversion is required to enable the construction of a major interchange on the Al Wakra Bypass project, part of Ashghal’s Expressway Programme.
The Public Works Authority urged all road users to abide by the 50 kph speed limit and follow diversion road signs to ensure their safety.
With the camping season now underway, Ashghal also reminded road users to exercise special care while driving to their campsite, by further reducing speed as necessary.
