Doha: The Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar and Seashore Group have signed a cooperation agreement for Seashore Group to provide financial support for various artwork within Zeenah’s Initiative.
This aims to support several beautifying works and artworks as part of the initiative launched by the committee, in cooperation with ministries and other government authority. In addition to initiatives supporting sustainability and taking parts in some events.
The terms of the agreement, which last for two years from signing, include providing financial support by Seashore Group for various initiatives and events within the projects of the Supervisory Committee. It is implemented in cooperation with Qatari artists and residents in the country, and to the projects that serve the environmental sustainability in addition to sponsoring some of the activities in which the committee participates.
This agreement regulates the responsibilities and rights of both parties in all areas of cooperation such as, wall murals in Al Khor Coastal Road, old doors in Iqraa’ plaza, and the mural on the water tank in Khalifa Avenue Road, and a number of artworks on the beaches.
The signing of the cooperation agreement was witnessed by H E Dr. Eng. Saad bin Ahmad Al Mohannadi, President of Ashghal, and Salem Saeed Al Mohannadi, Chief Executive Officer of Seashore Group. The agreement was signed by Eng. Mohammad Arqoub Al Khaldi, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar, and Saqr Saeed Al Mohannadi, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Seashore Group.
Dr. Eng. Al Mohannadi said the committee has achieved several goals that effectively contribute to Ashghal’s strategy, ultimately supporting the country’s environmental sustainability drive which is one of the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030.
He added: “We look forward to an active participation of the public and private sectors, as well as citizens and residents in “Zeenah” initiative. In turn, such beautifying initiatives help in transforming the State of Qatar into a vital centre for arts and culture in the region.”
On the other hand, Al Mohannadi stated: “We are proud to sign a cooperation agreement with the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar, which is keen on executing beautifying works and environmental friendly pathways, artworks and sculptures, and decorative fences that make travel between roads and plazas enjoyable. This is in line with Seashore Group’s belief in social responsibility and the importance of supporting the art scene in the country highlighting the contributions of the artists in community initiatives.”
Eng. Al Khaldi noted that since the Supervisory Committee’s establishment, it has created community-based environment with a distinctive identity in its projects.
“This agreement complements the committee’s plan in this matter, and in belief of the vital and effective role posed by the committee and supportive local organisations through funding artwork of Qatari artists and residents in the country. This is in addition to initiatives and events that are making use of the shared potential of the committee and the Seashore Group. This serves the message of raising the awareness of environment, culture and art in the society and the goals of both parties.”
