Doha, Qatar: The National Cyber Security Academy (NCSA), at the National Cyber Security Agency, conducted a series of awareness workshops for students with special needs as part of its “Cyber Eco” project for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years.

The awareness workshops were conducted across four public schools for students with special needs, utilizing tailored tools to cater their needs. Led by qualified trainers, the workshops focused on key topics such as cybersecurity risks, safe Internet practices, and the responsible use of digital applications. Emphasising global cybersecurity priorities, the workshops introduced the latest emerging threats including phishing attacks, online scams, fraud, and the manipulation of web robots, content security policies and more.

In this regard, Dalal Al Aqeedi, Head of National Cyber Excellence Department at the National Cyber Security Agency, highlighted the agency’s commitment to empowering students with special needs, recognising their vital role in the national social fabric.

She further emphasised that, like all other segments, these students are particularly vulnerable in the online space. As such, they have every right to access knowledge, awareness, and training on safe technology usage.

She also stressed on the importance of integrating them into daily digital activities while safeguarding their privacy, ensuring their protection and promoting their inclusion in the digital world.
