DOHA: Qatar’s leading construction firm, Galfar Al Misnad, conducted a special celebration with its workers at its Dukhan Project, for achieving the major safety milestone of completing 17 years of continuous work at the project with 12.8 million safe man hours without LTI (Lost Time Injuries), including 2 million safe man hours in the present contract that has been running for two years.
The top management of Galfar Al Misnad felicitated the 600 strong workforce who were present at the ceremony. Certificates of appreciation were handed out to workers to laud their commitment towards upholding the safety standards that the company strictly adheres to, in order to maintain such an incident free record.
Galfar Al Misnad’s Executive Director, Satish G. Pillai said that this was probably the biggest milestone achieved by the company since its inception in 1995. The General Manager of the Oil and Gas Division at Galfar Al Misnad, Thomas A. Rajarathinam explained that this particular project, which Galfar has been working with since 2000, was also awarded the prestigious MEED Quality award for Best Oil and Gas Project in Qatar in 2014 and 2016.
