“Streets are busier and drivers may be distracted by their holiday mood,” warned a post on MoI social media page.
It urged people to be more careful on the roads.
Here are a few friendly tips from MoI to ensure your festive season is a safe one: > It’s very important that you park your vehicles properly in front of Majsids as Eid prayer time, nearby slaughter houses as people will rush for Udhiya (sacrifice of animals) as well and shopping malls, souqs, parks and other public places. Random parking in front of Masjids and other places will create trouble for others and block the traffic.

Motorist should slow down their while driving through residential neighbourhoods, masjids, public parks, shopping malls and while approaching roundabouts, intersections and crosswalk. As well pedestrian shall take utmost care when cross the roads to ensure safety.
> Seat belt, speed limit and safe distance are key to traffic safety. Using mobiles may end up in fatal accidents. Don't jump the traffic queue and push into from the sides.
> Police patrols and traffic cops will be deployed in different intersections and roundabouts and other areas for your safety. Cooperate with the for smooth and safe traffic flow. In case of any emergency don’t hesitate to contact 999 (Police, Ambulance, Fire, Rescue)
