Doha, Qatar: The Embassy of Malaysia in Qatar, in collaboration with the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, has unveiled an exhibition titled “Malaysians in Qatar Visual Arts Exhibition.” The exhibition, which will run until June 1, aims to showcase the talents of Malaysian artists and photographers residing in Qatar and provide a platform to celebrate the beauty of both Malaysia and Qatar through art.
The theme of the exhibition, “Malaysia Mempersona | Mesmerising Malaysia,” takes viewers on a visual journey to explore the uniqueness of Malaysia. Through a diverse range of art styles, from abstract to realism to maps, visitors will experience the rich history, varied landscapes, and diverse cultural backgrounds that define Malaysia.
Ambassador of Malaysia to Qatar H E Zamshari Shaharan expressed his excitement about the exhibition, noting that it was a long-awaited opportunity to showcase the collective talents of Malaysian artists and photographers residing in Qatar. “The artworks reflect the multi-ethnic diversity of the Malaysian culture.”
This exhibition celebrates the uniqueness, richness, and diversity of Malaysia, highlighting its cultural heritage and varied landscapes.
In addition to showcasing Malaysia, the participating artists and photographers also pay tribute to their “home away from home,” which is Qatar. Through their artworks and photographs, they express their love and admiration for Qatar, sharing their experiences and memories of the country. The artworks offer a unique perspective of Qatar from the eyes of Malaysians, celebrating the shared cultural exchange between the two nations.
Featuring 34 stunning artworks by nine talented Malaysian artists, including self-trained artists and photographers, this exhibition is a testament to the artistic prowess of the Malaysian community in Qatar. The diverse backgrounds of the artists contribute to a rich and vibrant display of visual arts, including fine arts and photography.
The exhibit is located at Katara Building 47, Halls 1 and 2, and is open from 10am to 10pm.
