The officials and staff of Lulu Hypermarket salute healthcare workers engaged in the fight against COVID-19, at its D-Ring Road branch.
Doha: The leading retailer of the region, Lulu Hypermarket Qatar, took a pledge yesterday at its D-Ring Road branch to extend sincere gratitude to all the frontline soldiers of medicine & health — the doctors, nurses, technicians, paramedics, pharmaceuticals, all other hospital & public healthcare workers around the world – who are constantly engaged in their selfless and sacrificial efforts to keep the general public safe in the fight against dreaded COVID-19.
The endeavour has also conveyed an underlying message towards the relevance and importance of social distancing in the current pandemic situation. Lulu Hypermarkets have been on war-foot from the beginning with a lot of serious measures to prevent the risk of infection and transmission of the contagious disease.
Starting with rigorous hand hygiene campaign that was launched in the first week of the month through all its branches, Lulu went on to implement thorough cleaning and hygiene protocols within the store, warehouse and at staff accommodations on a continuous basis.
Understanding customers’ health, safety and wellness as its first priority, they have given awareness to the customers and general public through its official website, social media, newspapers and signages, on the necessity of maintaining reasonable distance, sanitizing or washing the hands, minimal family presence at the store for shopping and temporary suspension of the best practice of reusable bags.
They have also introduced dedicated checkouts to support elderly and vulnerable shoppers and healthcare workers. Further, protective screen has been installed at checkouts in order to safeguard both the customers and staff.
Lulu Hypermarkets have implemented strict precautionary measures for its staff and merchandisers including regular monitoring of temperature when they report for duty. It has been made compulsory that all staffs must undergo rigorous hygiene training sessions.
