Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) organised dialogue sessions focusing on the role of scientific research and sustainable development in enhancing integrative research and the scientific environment.
The sessions emphasised the importance of encouraging academic talents from the faculty of physical education and the joint efforts to highlight scientific creativity, innovation, and development in scientific research.
Physical Education Coordinator at Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys, Dr. Taher Kamal Al Helou opened the first session.
The session dealt with the winners of first place in the action research competition for secondary school teachers, the mechanisms and criteria for selecting the researcher and the research topic, and guiding researchers on the secrets of winning the scientific research competition.
The second dialogue session was entitled: “The Communicative Style of the Physical Education Teacher and its Relationship to the Psychology of the Learner.” In the session, Abdul Karim Ahmed Jameh, a physical education teacher at Abdullah Bin Turki Primary School for Boys, discussed the importance of the teacher’s awareness of the style he adopts in the classroom and his daily communication with students in an innovative and interactive positive way to achieve the desired educational goals.
In the third session, titled “Scientific Research and Sustainable Development,” Dr. Nabil Yahya, Academic Studies and Research Libraries at Qatar Museums, spoke about the concept of sustainable development, ways to achieve it, methods of directing research studies and scientific theses and linking them to comprehensive development plans. He also discussed the role of scientific research in sports, encouraging researchers to transform their innovations into successful products and projects.
Meanwhile, Coordinator of Physical Education at Simaisma Primary School for Boys, Mohamed Mahmoud El Shazly reviewed the topic of the last session, which concerned scientific research and physical education.
He pointed to the physical education teacher’s role in developing scientific research skills among students from grades seven to eleven through projects and scientific research.
