Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF), adding a new urban feel to the long-awaited annual event. The 12 food trucks will feature at the QIFF satellite experience in The Pearl-Qatar.
Museum of Islamic Art Park will have the Snack Court which will feature popular eateries, cafes and restaurants. The Cuisine Court will include fine-dining creations by chefs from the country’s hotels, at prices ranging between 5-35 QAR, as well as High Tea by the Bay. And, in the Culture Court, Chinese and Qatari cuisine will come together in an area dedicated to celebrating the Qatar-China 2016 Year of Culture. A new area dubbed The Market Court will be introduced in which delicacies and special ingredients will be on sale.
Festival participants can also look forward to the return of the popular A Taste of Business Class (Dinner in the Sky) by Qatar Airways. Additionally, QIFF will offer new entertainment experiences this year, designed for the whole family. Singers, as well as regional and international music bands, will take part in the festival’s entertainment shows, which can be attended free of charge by all visitors. A daily fireworks display will take place throughout the festival.

Aspire Jam the basketball street tournament is organized by Aspire logistics and it’s the fifth edition of this event for adults 18 and above. It is a three on three half-court basketball game, with five players on each team. Though the registration to participate in the game is closed, one can go and cheer for the team and witness some great gravity defying skills by the Lords of Gravity.

The Greek Art and orientalism exhibition showcases the artwork of Greek artists who are inspired by the tales of the Middle East, and its contemporary culture. The artists whose artwork are displayed on the exhibition are; Giannis Poulios, Dimitris Tiniakos, Aptin Aptinian, Artin Artinian, Anthonis E.Theodoridis, Nikolaos Magiasis, George Panoutsoulos and Paris Alexander Prekas. There are artworks from the 20th century and also those created on the spot.

This exhibition features the centrality of the female form to the artwork of the Qajar period in Iran (1785-1925). Through a variety of historical objects from MIA’s collection, in juxtaposition with photographs and contemporary artworks inspired by the Qajar period, they explore the meaning of the image of women at the onset of modernity.

An exhibition from 15 contemporary Chinese artists curated by internationally acclaimed New York based Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang, presented in the context of Qatar China 2016 Year of Culture. After his solo exhibition at Mathaf in 2011, Cai Guo-Qiang returns to Qatar to present an exhibition featuring 15 contemporary Chinese artists and collectives working in a variety of media. Artworks exemplifying each and every artist’s unique artistic language and methodology will be displayed in individual galleries, a curatorial approach further highlighting the distinctive creative pursuit of each individual participant. Artists: Hu Xiangqian, Hu Zhijun, Xu Bing, Jenova Chen, Li Liao, Jennifer Wen Ma, Zhou Chunya, Yang Fudong, Liang Shaoji, Wang Jianwei, Xu Zhen,Liu Xiaodong, Liu Wei, Huang Yongping, Sun Yuan & Peng Yu.

An Animal Park featuring 15 animals, including animatronic dinosaurs, mammoth and King Kong, has opened besides the Qatar Sport Club in West Bay. With the gigantic animals moving and creating sounds, the park also have a kids’ arena which features entertainment and rides.
