DOHA: Delta Doha, a leading Qatar based oilfield engineering equipment design and manufacturing company, announced that it would open its $50m new facility shortly.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the just-concluded 18th Middle East Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference (MEOS 2013) in Manama, Bahrain, top company officials said the new phase of expansions would enhance the capacity of up to three times of the current output of the company.

During the MEOS 18, Delta Doha announced that a memorandum of understanding has been signed with Saudi company Al Tamimi to establish a factory and service centre for petroleum equipment in the city of Dammam.

Delta Doha has also announced the launch of its new branch known as “DServ” for oil services, which offers petroleum services and maintenance for most oil companies in Qatar and the region. This new branch aims to take advantage of oil and natural gas opportunities in Qatar and the region.

The Chairman of Delta Corporation, Sheikh Sultan bin Jassim Al Thani, said: “The Company’s participation in MEOS 2013 reflects our keen attention to be present in all conferences, exhibitions and events in the region. We aim to foster cooperation with other companies in the field and exchange experiences. Delta Corporation is committed to satisfy customer requirements and expectations in a competitive manner through the absolute application of quality, health, safety and environment measures in its products, services and organisation”.

The Managing Director Wesam Swelem said Delta (Doha) Corporation has started a new phase of expansion in the new industrial area in Qatar by establishing a new manufacturing plant of 16,000 sq m at an investment of $50m, with an increased  capacity of up to three times of the current output of the company.

He stated that the new plant will be opened soon, explaining that this new facility is specialised in designing and manufacturing valves and equipment of wellheads used in oil production.

According to him, the new factory will increase productivity to serve the national and regional markets and place the company in a leading position within the Gulf markets and Middle East.
