Cairo: The 11th meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Council of Arab Health Ministers began yesterday at the General Secretariat of the Arab League with the participation of senior health officials in the Arab countries.
Qatar participates in the meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Public Health.
Director of Department of Health and Humanitarian Aid at the Arab League Minister Plenipotentiary Saeed Al Hadi said in a press statement that the Committee would discuss, over two days, a draft agenda includes 14 items dealing with various issues concerning the joint Arab action in the field of health and population, within the framework of preparation for the next session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers and the Executive Office of the Council scheduled to be held at the Arab League on March 15-17. He added that the Committee would review a number of Arab countries’ success stories in health fields, as well as the Arab strategy project for obtaining COVID-19 vaccines and unifying efforts to ensure the provision and fair distribution of vaccines to Arab countries.
Regarding the Arab Doctor Award for the year 2022, he said that the results of it would be announced in the 56th session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers on March 17.
He stated that the Committee would also discuss the proposals of the countries with regard to the focus of the 56th session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers.
