Doha: Ooredoo has announced its Nojoom Points Donation Drive has reached a phenomenal 3 million Nojoom Points donated to Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) in honour of World Cancer Day.
Ooredoo organised the Donation Drive, which runs until the end of February, to encourage Nojoom members to join the commitment with an ambitious target of a total donation of 2 million Nojoom Points to the Qatar Cancer Society. This target has been vastly exceeded, with a few days left still to donate.
QCS actively seeks to raise awareness of the disease, educate communities, promote early detection, and support those with cancer and their families.
The organisation’s campaign for World Cancer Day 2021 is ‘I am, I will,’ recognising that each individual’s commitment to act will lead to robust progress in reducing the global impact of cancer and that actions will lead to lasting, positive change.
Members can donate via the Ooredoo App or the Ooredoo website and track progress towards the target via the dedicated Donation Meter page.
Director PR at Ooredoo Sabah Rabiah Al Kuwari said: “We have a longstanding partnership with Qatar Cancer Society, and we are proud to work with the organisation on this charitable initiative. Their work within the community is invaluable, and we’re honoured to support them in any way we can.
"We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each Nojoom member who has so generously donated their Nojoom Points to this worthwhile cause, enabling the Qatar Cancer Society to continue helping those affected by cancer, their families, and our wider communities. And we would also like to remind members that there is still time to donate!”
