Minister of Municipality H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie is presented a plaque bearing his name by a calligrapher during the opening of the pavilion of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs at the Expo 2023 Doha yesterday.
Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has inaugurated its pavilion at the Expo 2023 Doha, as part of its participation in raising environmental awareness and achieving sustainability.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of Municipality H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Assistant Undersecretary for Da’wah and Mosque Affairs at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohamed bin Hamad Al Kuwari and Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Khalid bin Shaheen Al Ghanim, along with a number of officials.
Mohamed bin Hamad Al Kuwari stated that the ministry's participation in the Expo 2023 Doha stems from its effort to instil Quranic and prophetic concepts related to the environment and its elements, in addition to raising awareness about the environment and sustainability, in accordance with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Expo 2023 Doha slogan “Green Desert, Better Environment.”
Al Kuwari pointed to Islamic teachings about the protection of the environment by preventing natural resource waste, depletion, and pollution.
He said that environmental awareness within the framework of Islamic law represents a powerful tool to bring about positive change in human attitude and behaviour towards the environment, contributing to a sustainable and prosperous future for current and future generations.
