Doha British School (DBS), one of the leading British international schools in Qatar, has officially opened the doors of its third and newest campus near Lusail City – the DBS Rawdat Al Hamama campus.

The state-of-the-art campus which spans an impressive 15,000 square metres, will offer the same outstanding British curriculum to students aged 3 to 18 as the other campuses.

It features sprawling open spaces and a vibrant campus layout which encourages collaborative and fun learning. The campus will also feature an indoor swimming pool, a dedicated multi-purpose sports hall, landscaped outdoor playing fields, well-equipped science laboratories and a modern, contemporary, fully-equipped theatre. All classrooms will be furnished with the latest IT infrastructure, ensuring that teachers and students have access to the most innovative teaching and learning environment possible.

“Our core purpose is that every young person should gain as much as possible from our school, based on our belief that all learners can, need and want to achieve. DBS Rawdat Al Hamama with its state-of-the-art facilities and outstanding teachers will deliver an innovative, 21st century curriculum for all its students, to make this belief a reality. To be a part of the DBS brand and having this opportunity to provide the same outstanding education as the other DBS campuses to a greater number of children across Doha, is a fantastic opportunity and challenge that I am very much looking forward to” said Mr Rob Khan, Principal, DBS Rawdat Al Hamama.

A fusion of the past and the future

Since the founding of DBS in 1997, the school has been transforming the lives of students and contributing significantly to the landscape of education in Qatar.

With the continual growth and achievements of the cluster of schools, DBS provides a valuable contribution to Qatar's National Vision 2030 which aims to provide one of the best educational environments in the country. At DBS, education is designed to ignite a passion for learning in students, encouraging their innate potential while engaging them in multi-disciplinary immersions across the curriculum in a vibrant and robust learning environment.

“Since the launch of Doha British School, we have stayed committed to delivering an outstanding British curriculum in Qatar. We have pursued our essential purpose which is to provide a first-class education, enabling pupils to thrive within a dynamic, global environment,” said Mr Paul Sherlock, Executive Principal, Doha British Schools.

Beginning this year, DBS will also start incorporating a new wave of learning that allows for a more efficient use of the latest technology and educational pedagogy. This innovative and contemporary approach to learning will improve the overall experience of the students by enhancing their critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills."With the provision of the latest technology in our lessons and classrooms, we are equipping our students with the proper digital age skills, ready to take on real life challenges of the future," added Mr Paul Sherlock.

The Growth of the Sixth Form

The Sixth Form at DBS offers four unique pathways of learning - AS/A-Level, IB Diploma, and BTEC. The courses are taught by subject-specialist and UK-trained teachers that focus on ensuring that students maximise their potential and time in school.

Students from DBS Sixth Form are also known for achieving outstanding exam results year on year. This year marks an important milestone for DBS as its Al Wakra campus will open its own Sixth Form this August. DBS Ain Khaled, the first campus of the three, was the first to open a Sixth Form in 2012.

“We are delighted to be expanding our Post-16 curriculum offer, providing a wide range of AS level courses at our DBS Al Wakra campus that will enable more DBS students the opportunity to access our outstanding Post-16 provision,” added Mr Paul Sherlock.
