Islamabad: The State of Qatar participated in the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, under the theme of ‘Building Partnerships for Unity, Justice, and Development’.
The Qatari delegation to the session was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Qatar’s participation in the session comes within the framework of its keenness to support the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to remain an incubator and supporter of the issues of the Islamic nation.
The relationship of the State of Qatar and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is characterised by a long record of cooperation and partnership since the State of Qatar joined the organisation in 1972 and its participation in the 2nd Islamic Summit in Lahore in 1974.
