Paris: The State of Qatar participated in the 4th Francophonie weekend celebration organised annually by the French city of Yebles to celebrate the Francophone week, in the presence of representatives of more than 40 Francophone countries.
Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the French Republic H E Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani inspected the pavilion of the State of Qatar participating in the celebration.
Mayor of Yebles Marieme Tamata-Varin welcomed the Qatari participation, saying that it embodied the richness of Qatar’s heritage and culture in the context of encouraging intercultural dialogue and interaction between civilizations in accordance with the principles of Francophone, which is keen on cultural pluralism and is committed to the values of peace and international cooperation.
In a speech on this occasion, Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani underlined the State of Qatar’s keenness to participate in this cultural and artistic event, based on the importance of learning about the diversity of cultures of the various components of the Francophone family.
