Qatar’s Government Communication Office urged employers to take measures to protect workers under them.

“Employers have an important role to play in protecting workers from COVID-19 and keeping them healthy and safe,” a GCO tweet in the evening said.

The GCO also have listed a few actions that employers should take:

1. Raising awareness of the recommended measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by providing easily available educational materials in the languages spoken by employees.

2. Cleaning and sterilising work sites, housing, bathrooms, kitchens, buses, and other frequently used locations daily.

3. Distributing masks, soap, hand sanitizers, tissues, and advising employees on proper handwashing.

4. Training employees on how to apply preventative measures at work and home to decrease their susceptibility to the virus.

5. Ensuring that workers are regularly screened and tested for the virus.
