Doha: Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to Qatar H E Jose Benzacin Perea stressed the important role played by the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), currently underway in Doha, in the future of the gas industry.
In a speech he gave during the opening session of the Forum, Perea said that his country has huge gas reserves in the Cusco region, which is distinguished by its ancient historical legacy. For his part, Director-General of the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy of Norway Lars Lambett affirmed his country’s commitment to selling gas at the prices that are agreed upon, and to fulfil its commitments regarding the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
Addressing the Forum’s opening session, he stressed the role of natural gas in the field of energy worldwide, saying that it could play a more important role in the long run if countries fulfilled their commitments related to sustainable development.
