Indian expats to get insurance coverage on a low premium

DOHA: Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), an expat organization working closely with the Indian Embassy, has announced an insurance scheme for the Indian expatriates in Qatar.

The group insurance, whose premium is as low as QR125 for two years, is aimed at protecting families of the expats working in Qatar, ICBF said. Damaan Islamic Insurance Company-Bheema facilitate the cover.

Any Indian national, who is a resident in Qatar with a valid Qatari ID, can join the scheme.

The coverage of insurance programme is QR100,000. It also covers permanent or partial disability up to the maximum covered amount depending on the percentage of disability.

The low premium, QR125 for two-year term, is to ensure maximum participation from the community to join the insurance programme, an ICBF statement said.

All Individuals are insured without any health declaration or medical examination. The only criteria for coverage should be a valid Qatar ID and the applicant’s age should be between 18 and 65.
