The Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Edmonton Oilers all had unsuccessful nights. Two games were decided in extra time, while one concluded in another blowout.

What looked to be a promising second period turnaround for the Edmonton Oilers ended with an eight-round 6-5 shootout loss. The team extended their winless streak to seven.
Adding insult to injury, the game winner came from former Oiler Shawn Horcoff. The 36-year-old Dallas Stars forward, who spent 12 seasons with Edmonton, also had the first period equalizer in response to Taylor Hall's power play goal.
Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall had two goals and one assist, as did Dallas Stars Tyler Seguin. Seguin's teammate Mark Arcobello also had two goals in the high scoring affair.
It was an unusual game, as Edmonton scored four goals in the second period alone. They haven't scored more than four goals in a single game since a 6-3 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Oct. 24.
Jakub Voracek had the Philadelphia Flyers first and last goal for the night to help his team claim back-to-back victories for the weekend. Winnipeg was unable to preserve their 3-1 third period lead, and ultimately fell to the Flyers 4-3 in overtime.
It didn't take Voracek long to settle things up, scoring an unassisted goal only 10 seconds into extra time. He leads the league in points, so containing him was crucial, but the Jets failed to do so.
The surprise of the night was perhaps Vincent Lecavalier's sudden offensive prowess. The former Lightning star forward scored two goals to tie the game. They were his third and fourth of the season.
The Leafs began their seven-game road trip with a whimper. They were unable to rebound from Saturday night's embarrassing 7-4 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.
This time they were shutout 4-0 by the surging Chicago Blackhawks. Unsurprisingly, it was Blackhawks star forward Patrick Kane who was a standout for the team. He scored one goal, but assisted in two others.
Chicago improved it's record to 8-1-1 in the past 10 games. Goalie Antti Raanta has his second shutout, while Leafs' James Reimer may be feeling some heat after his fourth loss in 10 starts.
