Doha: Earthna Center for a Sustainable Future, a member of Qatar Foundation, has announced the 9th edition of Qatar Sustainability Week, the largest sustainability campaign in the country.

The week-long campaign will take place in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, between September 28 and October 5.

During this week Qatar National Dialogue on Climate Change 2024 will be held on October 1-2. The Qatar National Dialogue for Climate Change is a forum for open discussions, where participants will explore recent innovations and opportunities to address climate change.

“As Qatar Sustainability Week and the Qatar National Dialogue on Climate Change make a comeback, Earthna remains steadfast in promoting dialogue and collaboration on sustainability,” said Dr Gonzalo Castro de la Mata, Executive Director of Earthna in a recent interview with The Peninsula.

The Qatar Sustainability Week is a national campaign designed to get people involved in activities that focus on sustainability. It raises awareness about how Qatar is improving in this area and highlights the nation’s sustainability goals. The week is an opportunity to promote Qatar’s vision for sustainability and encourage community involvement with key stakeholders to reach the country’s development goals.

“Qatar Sustainability Week is the opportunity to convene leaders, activists, workers, and school and university students to contribute to Qatar’s journey towards a more sustainable future,” Earthna said in its newsletter inviting individuals and organisations to take part in the 9th Qatar Sustainability Week.

It has called on organizations to come forward to run awareness campaigns, competitions, and activities within the office, engaging the public or clients and partners. Organisations can register activities on the Earthna website.

With remarkable success in the last 8 years, Qatar Sustainability Week has attracted more than 600,000 members of the public attending events held across Qatar. Among them, 100,000 participants were resisted in 2023. Also, 2,200 events were held, and The Week has worked with 1,380 partners between 2016 and 2023.

The 9th Qatar Sustainability Week has patterned with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Ministry of Sports and Youth, Kahramaa, Msheireb Properties, Qatar Museums, Microsoft, British council, Lulu Group and Al Meera.

The community partners include Planeed, DeapQatar Conservation and Enbat.
