Doha, Qatar: M7, Qatar’s epicenter for innovation and entrepreneurship in design, fashion, and tech, is set to host a series of workshops and discussions from today, July 21 to July 23, offering participants unique insights into the world of creativity and technology.
Today, July 21, the “Unleash the Electric Power Kids” workshop will captivate young minds from 4pm to 7pm on M7 Floor 1. Aimed at children aged 10 to 16, the workshop will present a series of experiments and interactive activities inspired by the “I Feel” installation from the Zwara exhibition.
Kids will have the opportunity to collaborate and design their own artistic areas while learning essential techniques like cutting, shaping, and making. The workshop fee is QR100, promising an enriching experience for young aspiring artists and innovators.
Tomorrow, July 22, the “Zwara Talk” is taking place from 6 pm to 8 pm. This engaging event will bring together three talented designers who will share their journeys through the Zwara workshop series. Their discussions will revolve around the process of utilising technology, sensory systems, architecture, and design to create three distinct installations that offer unique experiences.
The speakers include Alaa AlBarazy, an Architect, Urban Designer, and XR Designer; Farjana Salahuddin, an Interactive and New Media Artist; and Mohammed Faraj Al-Suwaidi, a specialist in Architecture, Fabrication, and 3D Design. Admission to the “Zwara Talk” is free, but participants must register through M7’s website, m7.org.qa.
On Sunday, July 23, the “Virtual Reality” workshop is set from 4pm to 7pm on M7 Floor 1. To attend this immersive experience, booking is required through M7’s website. Participants will have the chance to delve into the world of Virtual Reality and explore its endless possibilities in design and creation.
Moreover, M7 M7 has also announced through its social media channels that the exhibition “Zwara: Focus on Forever Valentino” is still ongoing until September 10. Visitors can explore this captivating exhibition at the Creative Learning Space, open from Saturday to Thursday, 9am to 7pm, and on Fridays, 1:30pm to 7pm. Admission to the exhibition is free.
Inspired by the Forever Valentino exhibition held earlier at M7, the Zwara programme brought Qatar-based designers together to explore the natural connections between fashion and other design disciplines, including art, architecture, and technology.
By drawing on the legacy and values of Maison Valentino, collaborative teams developed unique designs that blend their diverse practices while reflecting their own heritage and values. The exhibition showcases a fascinating array of objects and experiences, offering a glimpse into Qatar’s vibrant and innovative creative landscape.
