A number of entertainment and fun activities are taking place across Qatar over the weekend in celebration of Eid Al Fitr.
Eid festivities and events include musical performances, live concerts, stage plays, and fireworks displays.
As part of its ‘Feel Eid in Qatar’ campaign, which runs from today through Sunday, April 21-23, Qatar Tourism, in collaboration with Qatar Airways, has unveiled a stellar calendar of fun, family-friendly activities to celebrate the festive occasion. The weekend’s schedule of events is jam-packed with live stage performances, music concerts, kid’s shows, and sporting events.
Daily spectacular fireworks show will wow the public every night from April 21 to 23 at Doha Corniche; test your sporting skills at the Asian Town Sports Festival from April 21 through April 23 at the Industrial Area; and enjoy the best of the Arab music at Qatar Live Concerts, featuring the best musicians in the region, from April 22 through April 24 at the Qatar National Convention Center. And a special treat for kids, from April 22 to 25, Lusail Multipurpose Show will host a live stage performance of the popular children’s programme “Shaun the Sheep.”
At Katara, there will be daily fireworks, stage plays, music band performances, Eid contests, a show by the Qatar Police Band, as well as Eidiya distribution.
Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakra’s Eid Al Fitr Festival will begin on the second day of Eid, which is tomorrow, April 22, from 4pm to 10pm.
The event offers games, shows, entertainment, and other activities geared at youngsters.
On the second day of Eid at 4pm to 1am, Lusail Boulevard will host a plethora of activities. Over the following days, there will be traditional dances and performances, carnival acts, exhibits of foreign street art, light and laser shows, daily fireworks, and drone displays at 10pm.
Various malls across the country will have roaming shows, contests and games throughout the weekend.
Meanwhile, there will be a free children’s theatre performance, an Eid Market, and Pearl Eid Tunes on The Pearl Island. The Mega Park Carnival in Al Bidda Park is scheduled to run from 10am to 2am until April 30 and will include roaming musical performances, lighted sculptures, inflatables, and more.
The Lusail Winter Wonderland will also be open for this Eid from April 21 to 28 and will provide guests access to unlimited rides at discounted rates.
Al Shaqab Eid Festival will start tomorrow, April 21 to 25, where traditional workshops, archery, horse riding, and Arabian horse parades will be held.
And a treat for visitors arriving at Hamad International Airport and the Abu-Samra border during Eid Al Fitr as they will be gifted a special ‘Eidya’ package from Qatar Tourism which includes a children’s activity kit, a map of the country’s top attractions to give travellers ideas for what to do and see, an Ooredoo SIM card to stay connected, and a booklet with special deals from well-known brands and destinations.
