Doha: Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set for her OTT debut with Netflix's next film which is the adaption of the Japanese mystery thriller novel "The Devotion of Suspect X" and is directed by Sujoy Ghosh, who also directed movies like Kahani and Badla.
Along with Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat of Paatal Lok and Vijay Varma from Gully boy will be seen in the film.
The Devotion of Suspect X novel has won numerous awards and been adapted by the Japanese, South Korean, Chinese, and Tamil filmmakers before. The English adaption to this novel is still in the works.
The plot revolves around a single mother who murders her husband, and the neighbour tries to help her cover the murder.
The movie was announced by Netflix on their social media accounts with a short clip of a script reading session where the leading cast Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Vijay Varma, and director Sujoy Ghosh.
In an interview, Kareena said, “I can’t wait to begin work on this exciting project. It’s one that has all the right ingredients – a great story, a visionary director, and a super talented cast and crew. I am really looking forward to working with Sujoy, Jaideep, and Vijay. It’s the beginning of an electrifying journey and I can’t wait for audiences worldwide to see this global bestseller come to life.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan will also be seen along with Aamir Khan in Laal Singh Chadda, a remake of the American comedy-drama Forrest Gump.
