Doha: The frontline retailer of the region, Lulu Hypermarket, has hosted the 3rd edition of  ‘Let’s Eatalian - Authentically Italian Products Promotion in Qatar 2020-21’ in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Trade Promotion Section of the Italian Embassy in Qatar.

The event was inaugurated yesterday at Lulu Hypermarket, Al Gharafa branch, by Ambassador of Italy to Qatar, H E Alessandro Prunas in the presence of the Italian Trade Commissioner to Qatar Giosafat Rigano, Regional Director of Lulu Hypermarkets Shaijan MO, Regional Manager Shanavas PM, Officials from ITA, Italian Embassy, Lulu Hypermarket and other dignitaries.

The promotion under the title: ‘Let’s Eatalian - Authentically Italian Products Promotion in Qatar 2020-21’, is the third quarterly edition as per the agreement that was signed in July 2020 between the ITA and LuLu Hypermarkets. Under this agreement, the great vision of ITA and the Italian Embassy is being manifested through Lulu Hypermarket in four quarterly editions.

The festival has showcased a wide range of Italian products at highly modest prices through all its stores. The promotional campaign mainly celebrates the Italian excellence in the food sector; to name a few: canned vegetables, pasta, rice, cheese and dairy products, biscuits, coffee, olive oil, fresh fruit and vegetables, chocolate, sauces, spices, condiments and many more.

The third edition of the promotional campaign will run for a week from March 17 to 23 and is dedicated to the Italian culinary and food tradition and largely focused on boosting the sales of authentic Italian food products in Qatar. Rather than a festival of Italian food, it is more of a celebration of the rich heritage of advances made by Italy in various sectors.

As a large-scale importer of Italian products for decades together, Lulu Hypermarket has been conducting Italian Festival since last 16 years in a row.

Characterised by simplicity, Italian cuisine is known for the least number of ingredients. Pasta, vegetables, olive oil and fish are a major part of the Italian cuisine.

Generally, Italian cooks rely chiefly on the quality of the ingredients rather than on elaborate preparation. With Italian food trending worldwide, it is a great opportunity to explore a wide range of new products, favourite classics and time-tested popular brands of foods. Extensive promotional campaign through in-store branding, newspaper and radio advertisement, social media, booklets and google ads have been organised to make the festival a grand success.
