Dubai: The State of Qatar participated yesterday in the 22nd edition of Conference of Arab Culture Ministers, hosted by the United Arab Emirates and organised by the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO) in cooperation with the ministries of culture in the Arab world.
During the meeting, the delegation of the State of Qatar was headed by Adviser to the Ministry of Culture H E Faleh Al Ajlan Al Hajri.
He said, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that the two-day conference will discuss a set of cultural issues, most notably the comprehensive plan for Arab culture and its modernization with the aim of strengthening inter-Arab cultural cooperation, and unifying Arab efforts in the cultural fields.
He added that the conference discusses unifying Arab efforts to develop the cultural and creative industries, in addition to a report on the status and future of the Arabic language, and ways of cooperation to launch and develop new projects in the fields of culture, heritage and the Arabic language.
The conference will be attended by a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers of Culture in the Arab world and the League of Arab States and an important number of general managers of international organizations and heads of official delegations.
