Doha: Ooredoo has celebrated Qatar National Day 2018, in the presence of the company’s Chairman Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani and senior management, with employees attending the event with their children and taking part in fun activities.

Celebrations took place last Sunday at Ooredoo’s headquarters in West Bay, where a miniature traditional village was created by the sea and featured Qatari activities and food stalls celebrating Qatar.

The internal event started with a flag raising ceremony and the national anthem, followed by a traditional sword dance. Entertainment included popular games, henna, a Qatar National Day photo booth, hand crafts, falcons and much more.

Commenting on the event, Manar Khalifa Al Muraikhi, Director of PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo, said: “We were delighted to gather with all employees and their children to celebrate our beloved country Qatar and show what being a Qatari company means for Ooredoo. We hope that everyone got to enjoy this internal celebration.”

On the occasion, Ooredoo had also introduced its new QND song, titled ‘Keep Your Head Held High’, which portrays some of the most important national achievements and shows the growth of Qatar as a unique success story throughout the years.

The song, which was written by Khaled Al Buainain and composed by Hassan Hamed, was sang by Qatari Fahad Al Hajaji and was a huge hit on YouTube, collecting more than 2 million views since its launch.
