Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 239 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 223 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 133,914
Out of the 239 new cases, 189 are community cases and 50 from travellers returning from abroad.
So far, 235 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 136,888 and there are 2,739 active cases under treatment.
4352 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (10630 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,072,110 tests.
There are 34 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital to 288.
One patient was admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 35.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate
- Wearing a face mask
- Washing hands regularly
