Indian homemaker wins bake off competition in Qatar

Doha: Indian homemaker Shamila Yousef recently won the bake off competition conducted at Lulu Oasis. 

Competing against 120 contestants from across nationalities in the initial round, Shamila and her ‘panda on a swing’ cake was a big hit. For the finals, along with 20 contestants, Shamila presented a 'sloth hanging on a tree' that won her the winner's trophy along with prize money of QR 10,000. 

Hollandi's Bake off Qatar was conducted in association with Lavender Media and Lulu.

The competition gave an opportunity for the bakers in the country to bring out and present their creative side and skills not just in front of the judges but also the visitors who got a chance to taste the cakes. 

The second prize of QR5,000 was won by Mark Vincent, while the third prize was won by Nuket Dora, Dulini Rupasinghe and Shahely Sameer, each winning an amount of QR1,000. 

Cakes prepared in the finals by other winners 

The winners were judged by highly qualified international judges Tony, Ritika Williams, Kristine Zapanta and Beranadine Rego (JoJo).

All the 20 finalists also won a gift hamper by Lulu Oasis and Clickon along with Hollandis gift hampers.

The event also saw various cultural programs by talented artists in the presence of Lavender media directors Shabeeb Abdul Razak, Shahid Hassan, Noushad, Shareef Ahmed, Hasna Shabeeb and Arifa Shareef along with Malabar Adukalla association global admin Shahana Illyas and Azeez.
