Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MOI) and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), inaugurated the project of electronic connection, and exchange of traffic accident data that result in damages to state property automatically, as well as cancellation of all paper procedures between the two parties in this regard.
This project allows the Directorate of Traffic to complete all procedures for traffic accidents that result in damage to state property, within one day, in addition to issuing a vehicle repair report for the person responsible for the accident, after sending the traffic data of the accident electronically to Ashghal - to take action regarding the person responsible for the damage.
Director of Traffic Patrolling and Investigation Department of the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior Brigadier Abdulaziz bin Jassim Al-Thani affirmed that this project comes within the framework of joint efforts between the General Directorate of Traffic and Public Works Authority, with the aim of connecting electronically between them and facilitating services for the clients, as the nature of the work of the two parties requires exchange of data - in order to achieve accuracy, speed of completion, and raise the level of procedures and services provided to the public.
He pointed out the previous traffic procedure in such case, which required extracting a damage estimation letter issued by the General Traffic Department addressed to the Public Works Authority containing the data of the person who caused the damage, with the aim of finalizing the procedures with the authority first, so that the person responsible for those damages can obtain a vehicle repair report.
He also noted that the electronic connecting and the exchanging of data allows both parties to electronically document, conduct statistics, and develop the project according to future needs, in a way that facilitates the process of services provided to the public in order to save time and effort.
