Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Labour has announced the launch of the summer internship programme for Qatari students for the year 2023.
The programme is part of the activities of the National Program for Job Localization in the private sector, which the Ministry of Labour is evaluating in cooperation with private sector companies, and it will continue throughout the summer vacation.
In the financial and insurance sector, seven students participated in the summer internship programme that was supervised by Qatar International Islamic Bank, while 107 students enrolled in the summer internship programme in different sectors.
The summer internship programme, one of the human capacity development programmes launched by the Manpower Employment Department in the Ministry of Labour in cooperation with the private sector, provides a internship opportunity for 100 students this year.
The Labour market, in addition to investing in the future Qatari workforce, defining their orientations and making the best use of free time during the summer vacation in a way that benefits them and instilling the values of responsibility and commitment.
The summer internship programme offers students the chance to gain insights into the workings of professions across 31 varied sectors and industries. Some of the notable sectors include finance and insurance, services and transportation, communications and information technology, real estate and contracting, and energy and industry.
This hands-on experience enables students to align their skills and aptitudes with these professions, thereby guiding them in shaping their academic and future career trajectories effectively.
