Al Sadd defender Musab Kheder
Al Sadd’s Musab Kheder will wear the black and white jersey for three more years, it was revealed yesterday. The 24-year old defender extended his contract with the club by three more years, leading up to 2020.
Kheder moved back to Al Sadd, having played for Al Rayyan on loan since January, and is back on training at his familiar grounds, under the watchful eyes of the Portuguese head coach Jesualdo Ferreira.
Kheder’s contract extension comes as part of the club’s strategic plan for continuity and to provide the reigning Qatar Cup and Emir Cup champions with all the resources needed to achieve success. Kheder will join the Al Sadd team which departed for a pre-season training camp in Austria, however their goalkeeper Saad Al Dosari will miss the camp which begins today.
According to the team sources, Al Dosari has suffered an injury to his shoulder blade, which will require medical care and will take at least three weeks to recover. He will undergo treatment under the supervision of the Qatar national team’s medical staff.
Al Sadd players will train under typical European conditions until August 5 and Al Dosari is set to rejoin the squad upon their return.
The team launched its preparations for the upcoming Qatar Stars League season last Thursday at the club’s training pitch where representatives of the club management were also present.
Al Sadd’s head of football Mohammed Ghanem Al Ali, sporting director Mohammed Gholam and team manager Abdullah Al Breik witnessed the players in action after a long break.
Gholam, speaking to the club’s official website about his meeting with the players which took place before the training session, has emphasised on the importance of the current period and the challenges that lie ahead both at home and in Asia.
He has also made it clear that ideal preparation requires a great desire from the players to benefit physically and technically from day one of training.
