Doha: The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) announced that tonight, March 20, marks the first night of the star of Saad Al-Akhbia, during which the atmosphere is generally warm. It is also the season of Sarayat (strong low winds), and it lasts 13 days.

It coincides with the astronomical entry of the spring season, as the day begins to gradually lengthen and the night decreases, during which the Sarayat season— which is distinguished by rain and strong winds that could lead to rising dust— begins.

The atmosphere generally begins to warm up during this time.

It has been named Saad al-Akhbiya (roughly translated to “the joy of those in-hiding”) due to insects and other creatures coming out of their hiding places.

QMD recently announced that the spring period in the country is characterised by continuous weather fluctuations with warm fronts followed by cold fronts.

The Department previously stated that temperatures in the country will rise gradually during the second half of March, of which the daily mean temperature for the month is projected to be 21.9°C.
