Doha, Qatar: Some of the world’s top wrestling legends are set to slug it out at the highly anticipated Super Slam III event this weekend in Doha. The bouts, to be held over February 21 and 22, will take place at the Ladies Hall in Aspire Zone from 8pm on both days.
Organised by Qatar Pro Wrestling (QPW), Super Slam III will feature a lineup of 30 international wrestling superstars, including Mustafa Ali, Nic Nemeth, Matt Cardona, Hijo Del Vikingo, and Alberto Del Rio.
Mick Foley and Jushin “Thunder” Liger will also be making special appearances. The two-day event will feature six high-octane matches daily.
Speaking at a media meet ahead of the event yesterday, Chairman and Founder of QPW Ali Marafi noted that events like Super Slam III are vital for the growth of professional wrestling in the region.
“They bring the excitement of live wrestling directly to the fans while also providing a crucial opportunity for local talent to compete against world champions. This exposure is invaluable for growing the sport and inspiring the next generation of wrestlers. We’re building a strong foundation for the future of wrestling in the Middle East,” he said.
In attendance at the press conference were wrestling legends Mick Foley, The Maharaja (Jinder Mahal), Nick Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler), Fallah Bahh, and Classy Ali (Ali Al Majid), a local and reigning champion, who made a surprise visit to the event.
