Doha: You think history is boring? Msheireb Museums doesn’t think so. In an effort to make history alive they recently played a prank on their visitors giving them a pleasant surprise.
Msheireb Museums placed a few statues in the Company House courtyard, inviting followers to visit and find out the reason for its presence. Only that one of them was a real person posing as a statue and thus giving the visitors a minor scare.
With a caption reading “history is definitely not boring at Msheireb Museums”, the museum shared the video on how they made history come alive.
The video begins with a man getting himself painted white and then standing or sitting in various poses. When visitors walk in, including school kids, to the museum and get close to the statues for inspection or for a picture, the statue makes a sudden move pleasantly startling the visitor.

The reactions of the visitors are worth a watch with many laughing out loud to some having a shocked expression on their faces. One person is seen touching the head of a statue, convincing her students, "its fake, its fake," only to scream out loud when the statue moves.
The video concludes with a live statue touching his cap and the caption reading, "Where History Comes Alive."
Msheireb Museums celebrate the history of four historic heritage houses - Bin Jelmood House, Company House, Mohammed Bin Jassim House, and Radwani House. While Bin Jelmood House raises awareness about human exploitation, Mohammed Bin Jassim House talks about Doha's history and its unique architectural heritage. First built in the 1920s, the restored Radwani House shows the traditional Qatari family life. Meanwhile, the Company House tells the story of Qatari petroleum industry workers and their families who helped transform the country into a modern society.
