DOHA: Popular rider Mubarak Yousuf Al Rumaihi, astride Viking D, completed a flawless routine to corner major honours on the first day as another leg of the popular Hathab Equestrian Tour kicked off at the state-of-the-art Al Shaqab Arena yesterday.
Al Rumaihi guided the nine-year-old gelding to complete the designated task in the Open Class - Table A, One round against the clock Art. 238.2.1, 115/125cm event in 69.60 seconds to bag the top price of the day, QR3,750.
Corrado’s Coriana, ridden by Mohammed Said Haidan, finished the same task in 72.22 seconds to gain the second place which offered QR3,000 in prize money.
Belucci Van ‘T Vleminkhof, with Jaber Rashid Al Amri in the saddle, clocked a time of 72.83 seconds to secure the third place on the podium as well as a prize cheque worth QR2,250. Blanca, ridden by Abdullah Ali Al Ajeil and Davidoff Du Bois, with Mohammed Khalifa Al baker in the saddle, rounded up the top five in the QR15,000 event.
Earlier, in the Small Tour, young rider Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi guided Fudine in an error-less routine to win the top prize worth QR2,500.
The duo completed the task in 28.88 seconds ahead of Calva Z, ridden by Carlota Vincente Alarcon who finished second. Desperadito, with Saeed Nasser Al Qadi in the saddle, completed the top three.
The event will continue today.
