Doha: The diplomatic, consular and representative missions of the State of Qatar celebrated the State's National Day yesterday, in commemoration of the founder of the State, Sheikh Jassim bin Muhammad bin Thani, under the slogan ‘Ancestral Meadows: A Matter of Trust’.
Their Excellencies, Heads of the diplomatic, consular and representative missions of the State of Qatar abroad expressed their greetings to Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Father Amir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and all the Qatari people on the occasion, wishing the State of Qatar more progress and prosperity.
The diplomatic celebrations in the capitals and cities of the world witnessed the participation of high-level officials, which reflected Qatar’s distinguished relations with the countries of the world.
In Riyadh, Qatar’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H E Bandar bin Mohammed Al Attiyah held a celebration on the occasion of the National Day, attended by H R H Acting Governor of Riyadh Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz.
The celebration was also attended by H E Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; H E Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Mohammed Al Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Kuwaiti Cabinet Affairs; H E Khalifa bin Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs; H E Dr. Nayef bin Falah Al Hajraf, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf; H E Eng Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al Khuraiji, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; H E Dr. Nasser Al Dawood, Undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Interior; H E Ambassador Tamim bin Majid Al Dossary, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Consular Affairs in Saudi Arabia; and H E Khalid bin Faisal Al Sahli, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Protocol Affairs in Saudi Arabia.
The celebration was also attended by a number of Their Excellencies, senior officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Emirate of Riyadh region, the General Secretariat of the GCC, members of the diplomatic missions accredited in Riyadh, as well as citizens of the State of Qatar in Riyadh. The celebration included the presentation about the State of Qatar, its culture, and its historical and modern landmarks, it also included the organization of the Qatari traditional dance “Al Ardha” which won the admiration of everyone. On the sidelines of the ceremony, an exhibition was held that included models and photographs of the ongoing preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
In Kuwait, the Embassy of Qatar held a celebration on the occasion of Qatar National Day. The celebration was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, H E Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al Ali Al Sabah; Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, H E Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Mohammed Al Ahmad Al Sabah; Interior Minister, H E Sheikh Thamer Ali Sabah Al Salem Al Sabah; a number of senior officials, and their Excellencies the ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and ambassadors of Arab and foreign countries accredited to the State of Kuwait.
H E Ali bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Qatar’s ambassador to Kuwait, stressed that Qatar is continuing its efforts to achieve the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 and to prepare the 3rd national strategy for a period of five years, noting that the State of Qatar has given priority to building the human mind and body, fortify it with knowledge, and provide it with the weapon of knowledge and the tools of the age in order to prepare a promising future generation.
He referred to what the State of Qatar has achieved in the fields of health, education, sports, human rights, economy and foreign policy, stressing that it has achieved during the past three decades a major leap in various fields, and has continued to place the countries of the GCC at the helm of their foreign policy priorities.
In this regard, Al Mahmoud stressed that Qatar has a prominent and influential role in its regional and international environment in all issues and files.

In Madrid, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to Spain held a celebration on the occasion of the National Day of the State.

In his speech, H E Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Spain Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Hamar referred to the advanced bilateral relations and the most prominent aspects of economic cooperation, the development and increase of Qatari investments in Spain, and the participation of many Spanish companies in important projects in Qatar. He also touched on the important successes achieved by the country during this year, pointing to the start of the countdown to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, stressing that Qatar has developed all the necessary projects to ensure the success of this tournament and make it unique and exceptional.
During the celebration, a film prepared by the Organizing Committee for the National Day Celebrations was shown, models of the stadium designs where the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches will be played were also displayed.
In Athens, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Greek Republic celebrated the occasion of the National Day.
The celebration was attended by Minister of Justice H E Kostas Tsiaras, Minister of Migration and Asylum H E Notis Mitarachi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness H E Kostas Fragogiannis, directors of departments in the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a number of Their Excellencies ambassadors accredited to Greece. In a speech on this occasion, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Hellenic Republic H E Walid bin Mohammed Al Emadi stressed that the principles of Qatar’s foreign policy are based on the rules of peace, security, stability, cooperation and friendship among all countries,
He pointed out that Qatar is the first Arab country to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which is a platform for understanding and cultural communication between all peoples.
In Mexico, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United Mexican States celebrated the occasion of the State’s National Day. The celebration was attended by General Director of Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East of the Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Affairs Amparo Anguiano, Director of the Protocol Department of the Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Affairs, a number of deputies and members of the Senate, high-level personalities in government sectors, and Their Excellencies the ambassadors of Arab and foreign countries accredited to Mexico.
In a speech on this occasion, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mexico H E Mohammed bin Jassim Al Kuwari reviewed the history of the State of Qatar, its progress and development, and what has been accomplished to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, stressing that the development in Qatar is linked to “our firm belief in building a modern state whose national identity does not differ with science and technology, as established by the Qatar National Vision 2030.”
He referred to the role of women in Qatar saying that all the achievements were made with the participation and leadership of Qatari women, who are an essential part of any Qatari national project.
The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mexico stressed the strength and development of bilateral relations between the two countries, especially diplomatic, commercial and cultural relations.
In Sarajevo, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrated the occasion of the National Day.
The celebration was attended by Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina H E Fadil Novalic, a number of senior officials, members of the House of Representatives and Their Excellencies the ambassadors accredited to Bosnia and Herzegovina. A presentation was made of Qatari heritage, the environment and a review of Qatari heritage history.

In Khartoum, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Sudan held a celebration on the occasion of Qatar National Day.
The celebration was attended by H E Mohamed Bashir Abu Namou, the Sudanese Minister of Minerals, with wide participation of official, political and economic figures, Their Excellencies ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Sudan and the symbols of society. The Minister of Minerals, on behalf of the government and people of Sudan, extended his sincere congratulations to the government of the State of Qatar and the Qatari people on the occasion of the National Day, stressing that Sudan enjoys strong relations with the State of Qatar based on respect and mutual trust.
He referred to Qatar’s role in developing solutions to most issues and disputes, praising its role in establishing peace in the Darfur region and stressing the confidence of the Sudanese government and people in the ability of the brothers in the State of Qatar to play a greater role in achieving stability in the regional and international environment.
For his part, Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Kubaisi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Sudan, stressed in a speech that the Qatari-Sudanese relations were and are still strong and extending in all fields, which lays the foundations for further progress and prosperity. The State of Qatar reiterated its full support for Sudan at this important stage in its history and its firm position in support of the unity, sovereignty and stability of Sudan and its keenness to support bilateral relations for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
In Istanbul, the Consulate General of the State of Qatar held a celebration on the occasion of Qatar National Day. The ceremony was attended by Consul General of the State of Qatar in Istanbul H E Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Sada, diplomats at the Consulate, and a number of officials and dignitaries.

In Karachi, the Consulate General of the State of Qatar in Karachi, Pakistan, held a ceremony on the occasion of Qatar National Day. The ceremony was attended by H E Imran Ismail, Governor of Sindh Province, Manzur Hussain Wasan, Special Representative of Chief Minister of Sindh Province, officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a number of Parliament members, a number of senior officials, Their Excellencies Arab and foreign consuls accredited to Pakistan, and community symbols, along with H E Mishaal bin Mohamed Ali Al Ansari, Consul General of Qatar in Karachi, Mohamed Salem Al Khawar, Third Secretary, and Fahad Ghanem Al-Sahlawi, Third Secretary at the mission.
Participants in the ceremony offered their congratulations to the government and people of Qatar on this occasion. The ceremony included the screening of documentaries that highlighted aspects of drive of the comprehensive development in various fields.
The ceremony also featured the participation of Qatari companies investing in Pakistan and which organized pavilions in which they showcased their activities and contribution to economic development and services in Pakistan.
