Doha: Ambassador of Poland to Qatar H E Janusz Janke praised the relations between the two countries, the growing cooperation between Doha and Warsaw in many areas and the common desire to develop them and push them forward in the future.
The most important recent occasion to solidify the relationship between Poland and Qatar was the official visit of President of Poland H E Andrzej Duda to Qatar, which took place from December 3 to 5, 2021.
Discussions between Polish President and Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on December 5 focused on investment opportunities, cooperation in the area of security and defence, as well as regional and international issues.
The Ambassador pointed out that the visit of the President of the Republic of Poland was accompanied by the Poland-Qatar Economic Roundtable which on 5 December attracted more than 150 participants from both countries. On the same day four business agreements were signed including regarding cooperation in the area of civil aviation. So altogether we were able to build bridges between more than 250 companies and business institutions from Poland and Qatar, the Ambassador stated.
The Ambassador Qatar’s economy has been successful in the struggle again COVID-19 and was able to address the challenges related to the slowing down of the world economy. “First, in terms of internal market the country has been committed to implementing the necessary precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The vaccination campaign has been a success.”
He further noted that the year of 2021 has been a very successful year for the Embassy, saying they were able to organise a number of business events. “I believe the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 is an amazing opportunity and a vital test for the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy. All the lessons learned will need to be identified and implemented promptly. In the end I am convinced Qatar will provide the football fans from all over the world with a great experience. And Poland still has a chance to qualify so keep your fingers crossed for us"
