The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Qatar advised Filipino workers in the country that beginning July 3, appointments will only be for transactions for Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) processing, and walk-ins will be from 8am for employment contract certificate, and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) registration and renewal.
In an advisory released on Monday, POLO said they will only entertain individuals who have appointments for OEC processing. This can be made through the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) Online Processing for Balik-Manggagawa or POPS-BaM. They can also register and create an account via onlineservices.dmw.gov.ph/OnlineServices.
“Only individuals with a POLO verified contract, an online account and with appointment will be entertained,” POLO said. OEC processing fee is QR9.
To process the OEC, applicants should bring: print out of appointment; original and photocopy of the following: passport (at least six months validity prior to date of departure), valid work visa or work permit, employment contract verified/authenticated by POLO/Philippine Embassy/Consulate; proof of current employment such as latest Certificate of Employment (addressed to POLO), payslip or company ID; print out of confirmed flight ticket; and prepare information of employer/HR: email address, contact number and company address.
Moreover, POLO said that walk-ins would start at 8am for clients with transactions for employment contract verification (QR40 fee), and OWWA membership registration or renewal (QR93 fee, insurance coverage renewable every two years).
“All clients are reminded to bring their complete and valid documents to avoid delays. Bring two copies of the following: for domestic workers: valid/current employment contract, passport, QID, QID of sponsor, copy of health card or insurance valid for two years. For skilled/company worker: valid/current employment contract with QR1,500 basic salary, passport, QID, certificate of employment addressed to POLO, salary certificate, payslip,” POLO said.
