Commodore Irfan Taj, Defence Attache of Pakistan Embassy, receives a memento from Riyaz Bakali during the Qatar National Day Educational Fiesta 2018 at TNG.
Doha: In a spectacular evening that was filled with fun and educational activities for kids and engaging performances by students of TNG, every student took part enthusiastically in the celebrations of Qatar National Day Educational Fiesta 2018.
The setting of Educational Fiesta was one to remember. It really did create a buzz in the country – flags were raised and a huge backdrop was creatively designed by students of TNG. Commodore Irfan Taj, Defence Attache of Pakistan Embassy, was the guest of honour of the event.
The fiesta began with a workshop on First Aid & CPR delivered by Qatar Red Crescent, this was educational for all the visitors as it gave them key points about saving a life and taught them an important skill to effectively manage an emergency. After which there was a student led performance on various national songs to illustrate solidarity and cohesion. To represent the love for the country, visitors were dressed up in Qatar national attire.
Kulluna, Ministry of Interior – Community Policing and Drug Enforcement Department hosted stalls during the event to spread awareness about their work. Many other organisations such as Tebyan Education Services displayed virtual reality activity for children to participate in.
SFQ Sports Academy, British Council, Molecular Education and STEM xplorer was a major attraction for visitors. During the event, there were many food stalls selling a variety of food that suited to all community members from varied background and culture. We had stalls selling local and traditional dresses and jewellery.
Blood donation camp was set up and we are proud to say that many of our visitors donated blood during the event.
