BERLIN: German police deployed on Tuesday in the centre of the western town of Dueren after a shooting incident was reported at a hair salon, Germany's n-tv television channel reported.

Police have blocked off roads leading to the town's centre, where at least one shot was heard.

It is unclear if there are any deaths or injuries, n-tv added. The motive of the shooting is also unknown.

Police in the town could not be reached for comment.
