On September 9, 2022, Saudi traveler Abdullah Al-Salami set out on his journey to Qatar on a walking adventure that will take around two months, just in time before the World Cup kicks off on November 20, 2022.
On his Twitter account, Al-Salami said his journey will cover a distance of 1,600 kilometers.
"In the name of God.. let the adventure begin...From the sea of #Jeddah to #Doha #Qatar," he posted saying he will document his trip on a daily basis.
On September 15, the Saudi adventurer published on his Twitter account several videos of the various locations and stations that he documented on Snapchat from the beginning of his journey.

In one video he told his followers: "I will fill this bottle with the water of the Red Sea and I will take it with me on my trip to the Arabian Gulf Sea."
In another video, he joyfully said: "It will be a crazy experience and adventure, different from all my previous experiences in Australia, Mexico and other places, and it will be closest to my heart, because it is simply in our country and among our people, and we will pass on the tribes."
"The Saudi villages are on our way, and we learn from their customs and culture,” he added.
On the fourth day of his journey, he tweeted: The most beautiful day of this trip #Makkah_Mokarramah #Road_to_Qatar.
Al-Salami said he hopes to arrive in Doha in approximately 60 days as expected. Saudi Arabia will play Argentina on November 22, 2022, at 1 pm in Lusail Stadium.
