DOHA: Al-Ahli Hospital is the sponsoring partner of this year’s Qatar Patient Safety Week (QPSW), which began yesterday.
The fourth QPSW being held under the Patronage of Minister of Public Health H E Dr Hanan Al Kuwari, is a national initiative created by the Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety Department (HQPS) of the Ministry of Public Health in collaboration with public and private healthcare providers across Qatar.
“Al-Ahli Hospital is proud to be a sponsoring partner yet again in this prestigious annual event that is focused on spreading the concepts of patient safety among all healthcare providers as well as the public in Qatar,” said Khalid Al Emadi, Chief Executive Officer of Al-Ahli Hospital.
“It gives us pleasure to be part of this year’s Qatar Patient Safety Week. The hospital is eager to follow international standards for safety and we are doing our best to achieve the highest quality in health care for patients by enhancing education and professional development for medical, nursing and allied health professionals. Also, this creates an entrepreneurial spirit among them as they strive for best possible practice,” he added.
The theme for this year’s event is ‘Patient Safety from Book to Bedside,’ which was selected to focus on the gap that exists between research, theory and actual clinical practice.
Jamal Hammad, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Al-Ahli Hospital said: “The importance of promoting patient safety cannot be underestimated. Healthcare is a complex and highly technical industry, excellence in clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction is at the core of our being at Al-Ahli Hospital.
Achieving these objectives can only be done by investing in high performing health professionals, dedicated and competent support workers and a quality systems approach to everything we do.”
Over the next few days members of the clinical and executive teams at Al-Ahli Hospital will be collaborating and networking with colleagues from across Qatar and from overseas to identify emerging techniques and strategies to further strengthen our approach to continual quality improvement as part of our quest for excellence in every aspect of everything that we do.
