Doha, Qatar: Qatar Foundation (QF) continues to prioritise women’s empowerment and community development through impactful events aimed at fostering positive change and promoting healthier lifestyles.

The ongoing ladies-only multi-sports camp and the Ladies’ Night at Education City Stadium provide women and girls from across Qatar’s community with an opportunity to enjoy sports and fitness activities, relax, and interact in a ladies-only space.

These events aim to inspire women to adopt sustainable healthy changes for their personal well-being, ultimately creating a ripple effect that positively impacts the entire society.

Engagement and Activation Specialist at QF, Buthayna Al Khater speaking to The Peninsula about the Ladies’ Night, which will host the second edition tomorrow at Education City Stadium, said that the main objective of this event is to provide a platform for women and girls to enjoy sports and fitness activities, relax and interact.

“This event contributes to the primary goal of the Qatar Foundation by helping to empower and motivate women in Qatar to participate in sports-related programs and supporting them to improve their overall health and well-being,” she added.

Al Khater emphasised that QF promotes diversity and inclusion through these events by providing a safe and secure space for women to be encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle and opportunities to engage in sports and develop active routines.

“The main plan is to gather more sports providers in one venue to continuously deliver innovative health and fitness programs that aim to improve the community lifestyle in Education City and Qatar as a whole,” she said.

“The event also aims to influence and impact the community to achieve a better quality of life through sustainable healthy changes and help them succeed by adopting healthy lifestyle practices,” Al Khater added.

In reply to a question about the long-term aim of hosting exclusive events for women and their well-being, Al Khater said, “We expect more and more women in Qatar to be empowered to talk more about sports and share their positive experiences with the young generation. To speak and motivate others about how sports being active can contribute to a person’s physical and mental stability.”

The upcoming Ladies’ Night will be held from 6-10 pm on Wednesday, July 19 at the Education City Stadium. The ladies-only multi-sports camp run with Sports Lab (for ages six years and above): will be held until August 10, from 1pm to 5pm at Multaqa.
