Khartoum: Sudanese government confirmed its complete commitment to Doha peace agreement, the basis of the peace process in Darfur, noting that any negotiation or meeting with the armed movements will be in accordance with this Agreement.
Minister of Information Ahmed Bilal Osman, the official spokesman for the Sudanese government said that the upcoming meeting between the government and the armed movements in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa, under the auspices of the African Union (AU), will be according to these principles.
He pointed out that the agenda of negotiating with SPLM's northern sector on Blue Nile and Southern Kordofan States will focus on the road map which approved by national dialogue and Addis Ababa document.
The head of the AU Liaison Office in Sudan, Mahmoud Kane had announced earlier that Khartoum informed the AU that its negotiating team for the Darfur issue would be headed by the Darfur peace implementation follow-up office state minister, Amin Hassan Omer, while the presidential aide Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid will lead the delegation for the talks on the Two Areas.
The negotiations will start on Wednesday and will focus on the cessation of hostilities, Mahmoud Kane said pointing out that the northern Sector and armed movements posted their approval and named their delegations except "Abdel Wahid al-Nur" movement.
The number of rounds of negotiations held between the Sudanese government and SPLM's northern sector on Blue Nile and South Kordofan States reach nine.
The most recently negotiations was in December last year. Despite reaching agreements in more than 80% of disputed issues, but did not succeed in reaching the final agreement to end war in the two States.
