Strong wind and poor visibility reported in many parts of Qatar

Doha: Strong wind was reported in many parts of the country and Qatar Meteorology Department has cautioned that in many places visibility has dropped below 3km due to dust.

In a tweet on their official handle MET said that “Northwesterly strong wind is observed in most areas with visibility dropping below 3 km in some areas due to blowing dust, please be careful.”

They also published some precautions which can be taken during dusty conditions.
 

 

In its daily weather report MET said that hot weather is predicted during the daytime with a warning of strong wind over most areas causing blowing dust and low visibility especially in open areas. Sea state is still unsuitable for marine activities as wave height expected to range between 3-6 reaching 10Ft in some areas.

Wind inshore will be northwesterly 12 to 25 knot, reaching 32 knot at places daytime. Offshore, it will be northwesterly to southwesterly 12 to 22 knot, reaching to 28 knot at places at times.

Visibility will be 04 to 08/2 kilometer or less on some areas.

Sea state inshore will be 2 to 4 feet, while offshore it will be 4 to 7/9 feet at places at times.
