BOSTON: Boston backup goaltender Chad Johnson remained perfect at home as the Bruins picked up their season-high eighth straight victory, a 5-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.
Johnson, 8-0 at home with only 12 goals allowed, turned aside 29 shots as the Eastern Conference leading Bruins completed a sweep of the three-game season series with the Hurricanes.
The winning streak is the longest for Boston since a 10-game run in November 2011 and the Bruins have outscored their opposition 32-12 during the streak.
