Station to monitor air quality moved to Al Rayyan Stadium

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment, represented by the Department of Monitoring and Environmental Laboratory of the Environmental Affairs Sector, has moved the mobile station dedicated to monitoring ambient air quality to Al Rayyan Stadium, in preparation for the final match of the the Amir Cup 2020 which will bring together Al Sadd with Al Arabi on Friday.

A technical team from the Department, in coordination with the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, studied the available places and chose a suitable site for monitoring air quality in accordance with the international standards. The event coincided with the inauguration of Al Rayyan Stadium.

The State of Qatar is among the first countries to pay a great attention to preserving and sustaining the environment in general, and monitoring and measuring air quality in particular, through its Second National Strategy projects which included managing air quality through a national network, and ensuring the maintaining the quality of air in the country and the areas surrounding the stadiums and sports activities venues.

The efforts reflect the great State’s interest in ensuring air quality in accordance with the highest international standards.
