Amir's speech reinforced state's vision to achieve progress: SJC President

DOHA: President of the Supreme Judiciary Council (SJC) and President of the Court of Cassation H E Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Mohannadi (pictured) has praised the speech by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the opening of the 53rd annual session of the Shura Council, stressing that it was comprehensive and reinforced the state’s vision to achieve further progress and development in all fields.

He said SJC fully supports the draft constitutional amendments, and affirms its commitment to implementing these amendments that achieve justice for all, adding that the SJC is certain that these amendments will enhance Qatar’s position as a country that seeks to achieve a balance between the aspirations of the people and commitment to constitutional principles, which form the basis of the strength and unity of Qatari society, and are consistent with the nature of Qatari society.

Al Mohannadi also expressed his appreciation of H H the Amir’s directives regarding the draft constitutional amendments, which reflect His Highness’s keenness to strengthen the unity of the Qatari people, and ensure the principle of equality among citizens in rights and duties.

He also said that referring this project to the esteemed Shura Council represents a wise step that reflects a comprehensive vision for developing the legal and constitutional structure of the state, in a way that ensures political stability and deeper social justice.
