Ooredoo has warned customers against sharing personal information or OTPs with anyone.
The telecom major said in a tweet that some fraudsters are using the company’s name to contact people and extract money or information.
“Make sure you DON'T share your personal information or OTP’s with anyone, as there are some fraudsters who use Ooredoo’s name to contact customers via local and international numbers or OTT applications to try to scam them for money and information,” the tweet said.
Ooredoo also said that “If someone does receive such calls or messages, they should block the caller / sender immediately and report it via Ooredoo’s twitter account @ooredoocare or on the whatsapp number 44144414.”
Last month, Ooredoo had advised customers to be aware of a new trend in scam calling, for the usual purposes of extorting money or stealing personal details.
